CROSS ALERT
Cross Alert Systems announces the release of the Cross Alert Video Introduction. This 3 minute overview of the Cross Alert System can be viewed at http://www.crossalert.com/movie

Cross Alert announces the delivery of a 4-pole intersection system to Grandview, Missouri, as well as the delivery of a 2-pole push button intersection system to Virginia.

Cross Alert Systems announces signed purchase orders for Anniston, Alabama, Pinedale, Wyoming and Cape Cod, Massachusetts.

Cross Alert Systems delivers unique active traffic warning system to Cary, NC. This system provides warning to cars exiting a subdivision that vehicles approaching on a State highway are hidden by a dip in the road. Two poles were placed about 600 feet from the subdivision exit. These poles are A/C powered with battery backup, and they are outfitted with vehicle microwave detectors from MSSEDCO. When a vehicle is detected, a radio transmission is sent to a pole in the driveway of the subdivision, which causes a warning light to flash.

The Cross Alert System in Sanford, FL takes direct hits from both hurricane Charley and hurricane Frances and comes through unscathed. Charley hit Sanford with 110 mph wind gusts and huge quantities of rain. Frances hit Sanford with sustained winds of over 50 mph for over 8 hours and dumped even more rain than Charley. Although power was out in Sanford, the Cross Alert System was up and running on battery and solar power. The system has been engineered to theoretically withstand winds of up to 140 mph. We sincerely hope that this theoretical upper limit is never tested in the field.

Cross Alert Systems announces the purchase by the city of Fayetteville of a 3-pole Cross Alert warning system for installation along a new bike path outside of the University of Arkansas. Installation is expected at the end of August, 2004.

Cross Alert Systems announces the award of a contract by the Rhode Island State DOT to install the Cross Alert warning system at 4 bike path/public road intersections throughout the state. Cross Alert Systems will be installing 2-pole intersections at the following locations:
  • East Bay Bike path and the intersection of Franklin Street in Warren, RI
  • East Bay Bike Path and the intersection of Child Street in Warren, RI
  • Coventry Greenway and the intersection of Route 117 in Coventry, RI
  • South County Trail and the intersection of Route 108 and Railroad Street in South Kingstown, RI
Installation is expected to begin by the end of July, 2004 and conclude by the end of August, 2004.

Cross Alert Systems delivers its first intersection system to Sanford, Florida. Seminole County has purchased a 4-pole Cross Alert warning system for installation at the Wekiva Trail trail head on Markham Road. Construction on the trail head is ongoing. Expected installation of the Cross Alert system is anticipated by the third or fourth week of July. Due to the high speed of vehicles approaching the trail head, two early warning poles were included in the purchase. These early warning poles will be installed 400 feet from the intersection to give advance warning to vehicles of path activity.
